Reviving Newcastle’s Past: The Story of the Disused Keelmen’s Hospital

The Keelmen’s Hospital in Newcastle is a historic building originally constructed for keelmen and keelmen’s widows. The building was last used as student accommodation but is now vacant and disused. Martin Hulse takes us on a tour through the deserted building, tells us about the heritage of the site and the plans to bring it back to life. This video is one of the results of artistic research Yilmaz Vurucu and Bahanur Nasya conducted on the industrial heritage of Newcastle in summer of 2023.
